Vicious lion on the loose

BethanySMC - Friday, 7 December 2012 01:31

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  Whom resist stedfast in the faith… 1 Peter 5:8-9

Highly aggressive, pushed closer to the end of his time, the devil is doing all he can to consume and destroy as many people as possible. He utilizes all means and resources to bring about eternal destruction to the souls of men whose faith is weak or who have no faith to resist him. You can find him hiding behind the screens and monitors of various sizes – poisoning and influencing the mind and behavior of spiritually dying people. He is busy promoting harmful and destructive philosophies and beliefs, corrupting morality and wasting his prey physically. Many are consumed by him through the highly advertised temporary pleasures and the pride of life.

We cannot afford to be ignorant of his devices and we ought to be alert and watchful to avoid his claws. The only shield that we have against him is the shield of strong faith.  When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.  Isaiah 59:19. Without genuine faith, there would be no standard against this river of mud that has come upon our culture and time. I am talking about faith that has convictions to abstain from all appearance of еvil (1Th.5:22 ), no matter how justifiable some things may appear.  Faith is a powerful weapon against the enemy, as well as an unfailing shield and a shelter from the devil through the blood of Jesus. Such faith moves us forward, surrendered and a Spirit filled life that bears the testimony that we are the children of God. “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:4.

Even the most vicious attack from the devil that causes us to suffer will not crush us if we have faith to resist the enemy and choose the life of no compromise. As I am writing this, I sense in my spirit that there is someone who is already bleeding to death, as the devil is devouring your flesh and spirit. He caught you in his snares, brought you into the bondage of sin, loaded you with guilt and is about to eat you up. The only way for you to survive is to look unto Jesus! He was nailed to the cross and bled for you that you may find healing for your wounds. His arms are stretched wide open to receive you and forgive you. Jesus died that you might live and not die; so you can become a new person, a new creation. Look unto Him in faith and ask forgiveness. Ask for His Spirit to write new laws and convictions in your heart, which will help you live righteously and pure in the midst of the world that is filled with filth. God is always there to help you. Why don’t you talk to Him right where you are?
