Offended in Jesus

BethanySMC - Thursday, 29 March 2012 10:23

And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. Luke 7:23

Speaking of the end time events, Jesus foretells that even from among those who once chose to follow him – many will become “offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another”. Matt. 24:10  As the end draws closer to us as ever before – let us be on guard against the enemy who will try to discourage many from following Jesus, even to the point where people will turn from the truth and from God.

An army of demons are working in all levels of society to bring about hatred toward the word of God, hate and hostility toward those whose names are written in the book of life. No matter what kind of trial or struggle you are going through or may face in the future – do not give up. There is victory in the son of God, there is help from above that will never be late and will come just on time!  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1Jn.4:4

Especially in the moments when things just don’t go the way you expected, or when it seems that God is so far away – the devil will be right there whispering in your ear, planting thoughts of doubt and unbelief – resist him, he is a liar and the father of all lies. At moments when it seems that you are forsaken by God – God is closer to you than ever before, perhaps even carrying you through in His arms – just hold onto Him by faith!

I can hear Jesus say, blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me, blessed is he who will have no resentment toward the words I say, no matter how unpopular they will be in the days to come, blessed is he who will not compromise for the sake of peer acceptance or gain. We read in the Bible that those who receive the word of God in their heart that is full of stones from pride, personal agenda and things that the flesh loves – who are not willing to lay it all aside and take up the cross and follow Jesus, denying themselves – such people will never partake of eternal life and the inheritance that God has for His children.  They have no roots, when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by they are offendedMatt13:21

I sense in my spirit, God is telling me that now is the time to clear our hearts from all the stones. Now is the time to go deeper into the word of God until our roots find the living water. The winds are blowing and will increase even more to test our roots and “blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me” – said Jesus.
