Not just an ordinary child

BethanySMC - Thursday, 15 December 2011 08:32

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned”

The words of the ancient prophet Isaiah, “For to us a child is born, to us a child is given,” directly relates to the event that we celebrate this season: the birth of a child whose name is Jesus. The reason why this child gets so much attention is because His conception and the events surrounding His birth, life and death, resurrection and ascension into heaven, and the entire purpose of His life on this earth was different from all people ever known. His mission was to enlighten mankind, bring them out of darkness and give people hope, peace and an eternal life in theKingdomofGod. What has been prophesied and recorded in the Holy Scriptures thousands of years before His birth was fulfilled with astonishing accuracy.

If you never have read the New Testament of the Holy Bible, consider reading it – you will never be the same! As we celebrate Christ’s birth, let us not forget that Jesus is alive today and He is still doing what he has been doing for thousands of years: enlightening people, forgiving those who repent, restoring and healing broken hearts and lives, and delivering people from their sins. Each sin, if not forgiven will be judged one day.  May this Christmas be a new beginning for you! May the light that Christ brought from heaven show you the way out when you face a wall in your life.

If satisfaction from all your achievements last just for a moment and you are tired of the way you live your life, your conscience is heavy laden with guilt and you have no hope and peace for your soul.  If you have no strength to stop doing the things that are ruining your life – Jesus was born to deliver, set you free and save you!

He is offering true freedom and rest. You don’t have to be judged for your sins and be sentenced to hell. Today, ask Him to forgive you and change your life and destiny. He will not turn you down if you cry out to Him, repent of your sins and ask Him to help you! He helped me and millions of others – He will help you too!

Merry Christmas
