Does God care?

BethanySMC - Saturday, 15 December 2012 01:30

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1Pe.5:6-7

The word of God clearly states that if we let God take care of us, He will surely take the challenge to do so; it is all about knowing Him and trusting Him enough. As the sun rises every morning on time, Gods provision, comfort and protection comes on time to those who trust Him. It is the pride of man that is often manifested behind the attempts to handle things on our own. When we fail to realize that apart from God we can do nothing and that every breath we take is a gift from above – we are assuming upon our abilities and strength to accomplish things. Such assumptions often lead us into bondage of anxiety, trouble and worries.

Some people fail to simply believe God and His word and as a result, they view God as a stranger, as some distant deity who is preoccupied on a global level with big projects, to whom their lives, struggles and problems are foreign. Even when they pray for help – they expect nothing. With such an approach to God, I do not wonder why they do not receive answers to their prayers. On the other hand, there are those who meet God and maintain fellowship with Him in the light of God’s word. Such people find Him paying serious attention to the smallest details of their lives, and God is proved faithful in every circumstance.

It takes humility to submit under God’s care, submit to his timing and methods. God’s care towards us is not merely manifested in answering our prayers. If you care about your garden, you will care to water it often and remove weeds; in a similar way, God’s care is often underestimated when he prunes our lives and pulls the weeds, making us capable to bring forth fruits of the Spirit and enjoy rest for our soul. God is especially pleased, when his children choose to obey Him and put his interests and the interests of His kingdom as their top priorities. Those who seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness will never be troubled in mind regarding present or future because God will make provision for every need for such individuals, and will make sure that all things are working together for good. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Je.29:11 God does care – it just takes a child-like faith, a relationship with Him and submission to his will to experience His care.
