Cruel Master

BethanySMC - Thursday, 17 May 2012 05:38

“They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?” Isaiah 14:16-17

The verses above speak of a well known individual whom the Bible calls the devil and Satan. The very last phrase, “that opened not the house of his prisoners” helps us see what kind of master he is. If he gets control over a person, when someone gets hooked on his hooks – such person’s destiny is to be a captive and abused for the rest of his life; locked in a prison cell that is never meant to be open again.

There is no mercy or pity toward those who belong to the devil. Day and night they ought to obey him no matter how bad the consequences are. There is no known occasion where the devil just let his prisoners go free. Every one that escaped this cruel master was liberated by someone else.

No common sense, no other argument can set a person free once the door of his prison is locked. You don’t believe it? Look at the drug addict – ruining his health and life, losing everything meaningful in life – yet, the person cannot stop doing what he is told to do by the master who has not a grain of kindness. Look at those who are dying from AIDS, visit a prison and see if any of them can change anything in their lives?  Once control is gained – the devil tells people how they must spend time, how to dress and what is expected of them with an ultimate purpose to bring misery and pain and eventually destroy their lives. You don’t have to go far, just look around how many people around you walk on their toes all day long. Even thought their legs hurt and it is highly uncomfortable, yet they do what they are required to do by that same evil cruel master – the devil!

Dear friends, none of us have to be in such bondage anymore. None of us have to listen to this cruel taskmaster any longer! Jesus came to set us free; millions walked away from Satan’s prisons and started a new life!

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” Jn.8:36 Come to Jesus, ask him to open the doors of captivity no matter what it is – addiction, immorality, bad habit or any other sin by which the devil has control over your life.

Jesus will set you free and you are not going to be under pressure to do the things that are ruining your life! Renounce and repent in everything you have done wrong, asking Jesus to set you free. Run to Jesus, He overcame Satan and only He is able to help you and open your prison door!
