Blessed are the pure in heart

Blessed are the pure in heart; for they shall see God. Math 5:8

The Heart is the center of the innermost part of an individual; one’s innermost character, feelings, or inclinations, the seat of will, secret purposes, and intentions. That is why we are warned to put all diligence to keep our hearts above all things that we might be concerned about.(Prov 4:13)

If anything goes wrong with our heart- all our ways, goals, intentions will be corrupted and the heart becomes deceitful. To trust such a heart would be the worst thing you could do to yourself. All your good and innocent intentions would end up working against you, and God would not be pleased. Your heart will remain silent and tell you nothing regarding your condition.

That is why even the best people in the Bible were crying before God asking him to search their hearts. Search me, o God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me” Ps 139:23-24

Blessed are the pure in heart! Blessed are they that care about this important issue and understand the value of a pure heart. They come before God often for examination and if need be correction of their hearts. Eventually the day will come when God will examine our hearts himself, but then it will be too late to change anything.

Blessed are those, whose hearts are found in tune with his word; free form moral fault or guilt, unmixed with this world, and fully devoted to the one who cleansed it with his own blood- Lord Jesus!

Only God tries the righteous, and is able to see the heart and mind. Jer 20:12.  However, in Mat 12:34; 15:19; Mark 7:21 and Luk 6:45 -Jesus points out that by careful observation of your life people are also able to see the condition your heart is in. What you say, what you think, what you wear, where you go, and what you do-  reveal much about your heart; although, the individual himself often is short sighted to see the condition of his/her own heart.  In such a case, only God, by his Spirit can point those issues out through his word or perhaps send a prophet into your life.

I encourage you to not run from God making excuses, but rather run to God! Ask him to examine and point anything that defiles your heart, seek the godly councils of your parents or someone who walks with God and knows you good enough to point any issues out. Put all diligence to keep your heart pure. Fill your heart with the word of God and depart not from it. Be quick to repent, and serious enough to respond properly to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

You will be blessed when your heart is pure and when you keep it pure. You will experience great joy here on this earth and will enjoy eternity in God’s presence seeing his face!
