Beware of many wolves

Matthew 7:15-23* Beware of Wolves…

How would you feel if you were thrown to or left among hungry wolves? I guess it would not be the right time and place to consider how you feel – It would be time to run! Run for your life’s sake.

However, this is not the picture that Jesus is speaking about. Jesus is speaking about wolves that come to you one by one for friendship. They know what to say at just the right time. They are so friendly and not scary at all….they join your choir, church, cell group – they sing beautifully and have many talents – they can preach and look spiritual. They really look like sheep.

However, what makes them obvious are by the things that they do after church… they rejoice to see one of the sheep join them in their partying. They have no compassion if one of the sheep stumbles and hurt by sin – they will gladly eat them up with gossip and judgment.

Those wolves that, a moment ago, were spiritual, will delight in the filthiness of this world – bloody movies, games, pornography, immorality, perversions, and disobedience, ungodly music, easy life with no cross – is just a part of their life “after church.”

Can you imagine marrying such a wolf? Living and raising Godly children together? Jesus could not imagine this either…that’s why He said beware!!! They can ruin your life and ruin the church by leading sheep into the dark woods where they soon will be destroyed!

The sure way to identify a wolf will be to focus not what a person does for God, but how faithfully he does it. How obedient he is to the shepherd’s voice. You see, the wolves would not be able to stand the shepherd’s voice and all “His requests”…. By the way this very principle is applied if you want to check your own Christianity. It is time to check your fruits – Are they fruits of the Spirit or are they the works of the flesh from Gal 5:19-21**. Please do not deceive yourself – If you are living by flesh, you are heading for the fire!

The name “Christian” will not save you. A sheep’s clothing will not hide you on that last day, even if you have been baptized and attained heights in the ministry!!

Beware of wolves! Beware of fruitless life! Beware, lest you join those wolves for your own death!

* Matth 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

** Gal 5: 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
